Hailing from Nashville, Chris Monteverde was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Houston Texas. Chris made his way to Austin, TX in 2001. He and band mate Evan Gamble started the rock band Jabberwalkie, which had a brief but powerful stint on the Austin music scene. Another band, Lies A Bloom, lasted about three years. Austin treated him very well, giving Chris the opportunity to call some of the best venues in the city home including Antone’s, The Saxon Pub, Momo’s and Stubbs. At the height of his days on the Austin music scene he was recruited by a band in Houston called Navasota Rio. Navasota was the last band to be signed to ABC Dunhill records (Lou Adler) in late 1974 and produced their first album with the three-time Grammy award winning Gary Katz who produced the likes of Steely Dan, Chaka Kahn and Joe Cocker. Chris has shared the stage, played shows and shared bills with such greats as: Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, Chris Stapleton, Ray Benson, Charlie Daniels, Lucas Nelson, Gary Clark Jr, Paula Nelson, Jessi Coulter and Waylon Payne just to name a few. He currently resides in Nashville Tennesse. Chris was also named CMA of Texas Rising Star for 2015 and was more recently awarded “best Americana act” at the Roswell film and music festival in May 2017.
