Why You Should Consider Throwing A Country Western Themed Wedding

If you’re planning on getting married sometime in the near future, most likely you have considered having a themed wedding where most of the decorations, food, music and outfits are geared towards a certain theme. Some of the most popular themes are the 1950s, the 1960s, butterflies and birds, military, civil war, rustic, and of course, the country-western themed wedding. Let’s examine some of the ways that you could go about throwing a fantastic country-western themed wedding.

The Advantage of a Country Theme Is That Most People Already Have the Boots

If a lot of your friends tend to already listen to country-western music, chances are they own several pairs of cowboy boots and a hat or two, this makes using the country-western team a lot easier. Plus, if you really want to go all out, you can actually have your wedding in a barn and not have to do a whole lot of extra decorating.

Wedding venues can be quite expensive to rent, especially including the reception as well. But if you going to have your wedding in a barn most of the decorating is already done for you, and then you can turn right around and have the reception in the same place.

You can use bales of hay to make tables and chairs, then bring in a stereo and a country-western DJ and you’re all set. One great place to get ideas for this type of theme for free is on Pinterest where you will notice that there are nearly 1,000 pages devoted to country Western themed weddings.

There Are Plenty of Themed Invitations, Cakes, and Other Accessories Available

Of course, the first thing that you need to do is pick out the invitations, and since a country theme is very popular, you’ll find that there are hundreds of invitations available that will complement your theme perfectly.

The next thing would be picking out the venue and there are plenty of applicable places where a wedding could be held that would fit very nicely with your theme. An old farmhouse would also be perfect as would a barn, ranch, or even in a backyard decorated with bales of hay and corn stalks. You are only limited by your own imagination when it comes to picking out the place to hold your wedding.

Boots and cowboy hats are easy to find for those that don’t own them already, however, most likely you’ll find that nearly everyone has both or at least access to them. There are also a lot of country style wedding dresses, so many different ones in fact that you may have trouble choosing. Tuxedos also come in Western styles for the groom since this is a fairly common theme throughout the US.

Having a themed wedding can add an extra layer of excitement and fun to the whole affair. You may find that you actually get more people interested in coming because people generally like to dress up and have fun. There are also thousands of great ideas that are easy to find on the Internet with just a quick online search.
